bought these today and they are AMAZING.

fall outfitting inspiration...

...via kate lanphear, style director of us elle. some of these pics are fairly old, but you would never know it (unless you pay close attention to the details, i.e. recognizeable items from seasons past). i love that her style does not change from season to season., she has a uniform of colors and shapes that she is loyal to. the idea of such a uniform is something that has been in the back of my head for ages-- creating a specific, signature style or outfit and sticking to it is sooo appealing, yet so difficult to grasp for me... photos from tfs.

so, i saw 'the september issue' last night

new idol. as i'm sure you have heard, she stole the movie. very, very interesting to watch someone do your dream job, and do it well.

so, i did a little fall shopping at creatures of comfort. not real shopping- pretend, wishful shopping. internet window shopping, maybe? anyway, here are my picks: a.p.c. chambray top, tanami boots by acne (so simple, but the shape is amazing), sweater coat by zucca (for those freezing texas nights. ha), rachel comey top, sunshine and shadow notch dress (love this variation on a shirttail hem), theresa rawsthorne MC jacket (LOOK AT THE COLLAR! amazing!). usually this time of year i start to crave earth tones, cozy things, furry things, etc., but this fall i'm leaning more black, sleek, slightly androgynous pieces balanced with a touch of femininity. norwegian secretary? ok.
