have a nice trip. see you next fall

ok, i haven't looked at everything yet, but this is what i like thus far from the pre-fall collections. from top: lanvin (loved this presentation!), givenchy x2 (origami!), celine x4, burberry prorsum x4 (amazing proportions here!), alexander wang x2 (still want those sunglasses). some thoughts: maybe i'm getting old, but minimal feels right. or at least right now. chanel, louis vuitton, and balenciaga seemed totally nuts in comparison to the much cleaner aesthetic coming from celine and co above. i think i would be into the pieces from rag and bone, but i wasn't into the presentation-- i need a little fantasy, even if it is just creating some unattainably cool character in front of a white backdrop (wang). basically, i don't want to see presentations styled the way you would wear them IRL. ya know? call me crazy. i was also not that into the schoolgirl thing from proenza schouler, although i never really am (into schoolgirl, or ps for that matter). for the record: i really have no business commenting on high fashion. while i work in the fashion industry, the fashion i am involved with would not be considered "high". however, i am inspired by all levels of fashion, and began stockpiling vogue and bazaar around the age of 10. i am interested. forgive me if my thoughts seem unintelligible. sorry, just wanted to put that out there, spouting off about this stuff always gives me attacks of insecurity. whatever.

well, this is a bummer...

what's that you say?

robert clergerie for opening ceremony? sounds like a dream come true. i love, love the idea of his shoes, but there is always something in the details that skews them slightly too far toward matronly. i'm hoping this collaboration will inject just the right amount of edge into the clunky/clog-y/minimal aesthetic he does so well. and another thing- i really love platform flats-that article made my day in multiple ways.
